Feast Miami project finalists and supporters enjoyed a day of art and philanthropy at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden on a spectacular first day of February 2015.

Sunday’s event was the 3rd in a Series of vegan pop-up events with a focus on financially contributing to and lending support for emerging creative projects.

20150201_5987rahnInspired by the food sustainability movement, FEAST 3 featured the culinary arts of Chef Loren Pulitzer of Meals that Heal as well as tastings from local vegan businesses.

Five projects finalists were selected by a local panel of artists and curators to compete for funding.

After their video presentations were screened, FEAST guests were enlisted to vote for the project that most inspired them.

Marie Whitman’s Eat Your Poem project came out on top when votes were counted at the end of the FEAST.

In her presentation the artist outlined how she would partner with  Poets and Writers who are also experienced teaching artists to provide uplifting poetry workshops, readings and guidance in composing poetry, to women living in shelters’s around south Florida.

The other project finalists were:

Sofia Bastidas | Dwelling Projects

Rosa Naday Garmendia | Traveling to Cuba? Send me a Postcard
